Dear Bill,

It was a pleasure talking to you and Munira Brooks regarding the Zyxel
modems. I would like to reiterate my desire to evaluate your 1496
modems for an extended period of time.

I will write a review of the modems, testing in a FidoNet environment
and in our local Internet peer network, to be published in FidoNews in
the next eight weeks.  I'll give you a copy to look over and approve
before publication. FidoNews is in it's 9th year, is published weekly,
and reaches approximately 10,000 readers per week. I have been the
editor now for over a year; I was the first editor from 1985 through
1987. It is distributed to networks other than FidoNet. 

On the Internet side, I'm the network manager for a San Francisco Bay
area Internet cooperative, and I install new members and recommend
modems for purchase. Throughput and security are important features
there.  If Zyxel modems work as well as I anticipate they will, I will
strongly recommend them to new members or existing members desiring to
upgrade from their existing V.32 modems (mostly Telebit 1600's).

I will need three modems for my testing; one for FidoNet use, and two
for the Internet link (fixed point to point link, one each end). One
of them could be an internal, the other two should be external.

I look forward to reviewing your modems, and doing business with you
in the future.
