war-preparedness parade bombing}. on july 22, 1916, a bomb¨
exploded during the san francisco ``war preparedness day¨
parade''. the state, in concert with local business interests,¨
used it as a pretext to suppress the anarchist movement in s.f.¨
(including alexander berkman's \circleA\ magazine \underbar{the}¨
\underbar{blast}) and to frame on murder charges tom mooney and¨
warren billings, two militant union organizers. using visual and¨
written resources, this session will be an invocation of history¨
and a sounding of its echo in our present situation of increased¨
patriotic jingoism and militarism.
