Day trip up 39 to Falling Springs
highway 39 once reached up to the Angeles Crest Highway, but has since been blocked off
a few or ten miles from the locked gate. the Crystal Lake store is open and a nice teminus
for a day trip. a lot of altitude, and solitude, so close to Los Angeles.
